Born in the Lake City of Nainital, Uttarakhand to a middle-class family in India, Dr Ruchi is a speaker,writer, avid learner and believes that learning never stops. She lives in the United Kingdom while her work is across India and UK both.
She is a speaker & writer on two broad areas which include Emerging Technologies for Surgery and STEAM for women. She strongly believes that “Success in life is to be able to strike a balance between your mental, physical, emotional and financial wellbeing”
She began her professional career as a Dental Surgeon and later specialized in Oral & Maxillofacial surgery. From there she got interested in Application of Medical 3D Printing Technology for her patients and to get deeper into the subject she pursued PhD from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India.All through her journey she has been a speaker and writer of the work that she has been pursuing.
Penetrationof technology among the medical fraternity has been a challenge which has prevented patients from being benefited by newer technologies. Dr Ruchi has been contributing to bridge the gap between technology & medicine as a speaker & writer by bringing surgeons ,researchers & engineers on one podcast called Surgeons in 3D Printing .
As a researcher in STEAM, she has been through the challenges faced by the research community and professionals in STEAM roles. To bridge gender inequalities in STEAM careers Dr Ruchi is a speaker & writer on another podcast called Unstoppable in STEM.
Ruchi is a speaker on international platforms and provides bespoke training to groups and organizations for helping women to thrive and position themselves as STEAM leaders .She is a writer of the blogs which inspire STEAM participation by women.
“My heart melts for girls treated with inequalities in their own families. Blessed to be born to amazing parents who treated all three of their daughters with equality. We got the best education and facilities and can walk shoulder to shoulder with men. Addition to the journey is having a super supportive husband as a strong pillar.
Having seen women in the community being mistreated, uneducated, disempowered, physically assaulted and their voices not being heard, she has an inner desire to stand and represent women by helping in the success stories of new generation of females in their career, health and wellbeing.
Therefore, her other roles include State President Haryana for Science & Technology Council, @ Women’s Indian chamber for Commerce and Industry (WICCI), Ambassador for Women in 3D Printing, New Delhi chapter, India, Advisor for the art of making foundation, India along with various mentoring roles.
